See You On the Other Side

Good morning my sisters.  

Today is a reflecting time tinged with joy and melancholy.
Todays my Dad's birthday and it's about 13 years since he has passed. I surely don't feel the emotions I did when he first left this world yet some memories trigger a smile, a tear, or a shake of my head.  

Regardless of your age, stature or position when a parent passes you think that no-one will know you like your parent does and your all alone or at least that's your 1st thought.
In time though you realize that God the Father knows you best.

He will comfort you during your loss. 
 Yes my sisters He gives you authentic comfort and does not leave your side. (John 14:15-19) 
Even in this pain He works all things for the good. As the days,weeks,months & years pass  we are strengthened by Him.
We can appreciate the time that we have had with our loved ones.
Sharing their positive gifts/talents; we can learn and gain wisdom from their mis-steps.

My dad did not live his life as a man of God. Our family joked if he finally went to church it may just fall down. In the end I asked could I pray for him and with him, he finally said yes. After days in the hospital I asked if he wanted to accept Jesus as his Lord & Saviour. By this time he only had the ability to nod. The pastor came, we prayed, and my dad at 52 accepted Christ with a nod & tears. Less than a week later my dad was gone. God is so good he does not want any of us to perish not even one. (2 Peter 3:9)

In time I realized that as I continue to live and touch others, parts of my Dad's individuality and influence is like a thread through out each of my days & years; adding to the tapestry of my life and the lives that I touch.  

Daddy this is dedicated to you.  Love you much & I'll see you on the other side.
