The Gift that Keeps on Giving

The Gift that Keeps on Giving

Good morning gracious women of God!!!! Prayerfully this finds you in your new wine skin as God continues to do His work in us.

Today I would like to let you in on a little secret I have had to learn over the years. This is a little gift we find hard to give to others & usually we don't realize it's really a gift we give ourselves. This my sisters is the gift of forgiveness.

Harboring unforgiveness holds us in bondage & really blocks the blessing, worship or prayers we send forth. It also affects us physically.  Unforgiveness grows like a sickness within & blossoms with bitterness, anger, & lack of trust.

Matthew 6:14-15 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 18:35 "So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

James 5:16  "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

To be real we know that people in life say & do hurtful things. We can be betrayed, insulted, talked about, physically hurt & so on. It is human to have feelings towards these situations. God created us with emotions & what He creates is always good. If you never felt these emotions you would be dead. The error ladies is not the feelings , but how we respond & react.

Hurts or betrayals that we have replayed over & over, situations that appear we can get no relief from, let's come into agreement, STOP!!!!
Don't take any more actions based on the anger, resentment, bitterness, animosity, & thoughts of retaliation ( now you know you want to retaliate  I've been there, done that & it was not good at all).

You ask how ????  By speaking/praying to our God. Just as you can't be saved, healed, or manifest the fruit of the Spirit without God's power, you can't forgive without Him. It takes the Holy Spirit to enact each of God's commands including forgiveness! But I can't forget so how can I forgive?
Nobody but God can "forgive and forget!"  It doesn't mean that you haven't forgiven somebody just because you remember the situation.  It means you need to reaffirm your commitment to forgive and move on again. (That's where forgiving seventy times seven comes in) Matthew 18:21-22

So give yourself the best gift ever. Give forgiveness and return good for evil. Not for them but for you.
And bless,so that our Father in heaven can bless you. God does bless those who are like Him--kind, forgiving and loving, pouring out mercy even when it is not deserved. Now that's a gift I like & it keeps on giving.

Proverbs 11:16  " A gracious woman retains honor;..."

Romans 12:21   "Do not overcome evil by evil; but overcome evil with good,"

Peter 3:8-9         "Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing."

Love you sisters!!!!
